As a specialist in women’s health, Dr. Sheila Carnett offers comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care for women of all ages. She and Dr. Lori Claypool work together in Madison Street Ob/Gyn, an affiliate of Capital Region Medical Center.
When it comes to obstetrics, Dr. Carnett likes to follow her patients from their initial dating scan through to their postpartum care. Being there from start to finish is as important to her as it is to her patients. Unlike some other practices where patients get passed around between doctors, Dr. Carnett thinks being there for delivery is the best part. What a disappointment to miss the big event!
For gynecology patients, Dr. Carnett offers equally attentive care, including contraceptive counseling, routine well woman visits, evaluation, counseling and treatment of abnormal pap smears, STD testing, medical and surgical treatment of urinary incontinence and pelvic floor relaxation, and surgical consultation and treatment of disorders of the uterus, tubes and ovaries. Surgical interventions include minimally-invasive laparoscopy and in-office Hysteroscopy and endometrial ablation in addition to the more traditional hospital-based surgeries.
